What is Juneteenth?

Juneteenth is the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States. On June 19, 1865, two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation, soldiers landed in Galveston, Texas with the news that the Civil War had ended and that enslaved African Americans were now free.

158 years later, join us as we continue to celebrate the freedom of the Black community!
